games on my 3DS

Thanks Nintendo for shoveling out software that I already purchased a decade ago with all the dumb-ass gba connection cables.  Four Swords from what I can remember was a pretty good game but now I guess I will have the chance to finally complete it. Fuck it I can complain the shit game is now free.

Downloaded some more games for my 3DS from the Nintendo eshop. Purchased Xevious, Twin Bee, Shantae, Snapdots, and Inchworm Animation, I went on a little spree if you couldn’t tell. Xevious and Twin Bee are similar standard scrolling shooters. Xevious being the more harder heavy action game, Twin Bee had a little more fun to the game and some other strange mechanics for gameplay (some strange things about bells, I only downloaded it because it was the new 3DS game of the week).

Shantae is ok still getting used to some of the mechanics but I can definetly spend more time with that. I only played for a few minutes, didn’t really get to sink my teeth into it.

Snapdots is really fun, puzzles games always are and it’s published by Nintendo. Not that should really mean anything at this point but I like their downloadables (except the rehashed shit). It’s a simple blocks based game where you complete a picture of the puzzle using a set number of blocks and race against the time.

Inchworm Animation being the last is the one app I’ve been spending the most time with. My own little animation studio in my 3DS is a really cool feature. I’ve just been getting aquaited with just the basic setup and drawing doodles. After work I will just screw around with it for an hour or two. Learning new things everyday with that one.

Speaking of rehashing software I did pick up Star Fox 64 3D. Now I never did play the original but I must say this is one impressive video game, especially in 3D. Q Games the developer of the game really put some effort into delivering perhaps one of the greatest pieces of software out for this system so far and so early into its life cycle I can’t wait to see what other fun experiences I will have.

And I still have that back catalog of games and Gears 3 and…

Currently

I am browsing the web for news, on my shitty tethered connection from my smartyphone. Watching downloaded episodes of The IT Crowd and playing one of the 10 3DS games I recently received from the  e-shop. Mostly Super Mario Bros., The Legend of Zelda, and Metroid are getting the play time as opposed to the other games. I’m debating to wait for Star Fox or to purchase Zelda: Ocarina for 3DS. I think I’m more inclined to wait for Star Fox only because I can’t bring myself to finish a Zelda title and that I have played that specific title too many times.

I haven’t even touched the home consoles, mainly from the hurricane and the power outage. So I will have to tend to that at a a later time. I was playing something for my xbox but I can’t remember, ah yes Mass Effect 2 and on ps3 we have infamous. I haven’t even touched my wii in a year and my psp in months. I have a backlog of games and a shitload more I want to buy.

First lets get this off my chest. HP Touchsmart blah blah blah. I said the thing sucked, but @ the fire sale of $99. Well shit you’d be stupid not to pick one up.

And now more pressing matters, my R2-D2 Xbx is now delayed because of LucasArts and that supid fucking Kinect game. I’m not even interested in the game, I only want the console and I’m sure most other people are too. I still have this piece of shit core unit with only 20GB of HD space which after 5yrs leaves me with little space to do anything with. Maybe I will pick up a flash drive for a temporary fix.

News that Nintendo is going to have an expo on Sept. 13, a day before my bday, exclusively on the 3DS. Rumor is that there will be an add-on for the 3DS and a redesigned model to hit shelves at a future date. This news ticks me off a bit. It shows that Nintendo doesn’t know how to fully market this handheld in a market where people have something already in their hands. Not only do they have Sony to look after, but every tablet/smartphone OS from Apple to Google to Microsoft wants a piece of the pie. And Nintendo also has the DS customer base which is huge which it can’t quite alienate just yet. Being an early adopter of the console I question their tacktics and my willingness to fork over more money for “improved” hardware and rehashed software.

Downloaded some new games for my 3DS. I purchased A Kappa’s Trail and X-SCAPE from the Nintendo e-shop. a kappa’s trail is short burst of fun that will keep you coming back for more. Simple touch controls, a fun story, and great game play combine to be a great game. There are 3 other modes of fun for this game, although I have only unlocked one.

X-SCAPE  is a first person shooter, the story is a good set up but so far through the game it seems like a letdown. game play is driven by 2 mechanics 1 is the stylus controls your movement and 2 is any button press is to fire your weapon. I’ve only played a short while and the levels are fun and challenging.c

Currently playing Mass Effect 2 /Enslaved on 360, waiting for Starfox 64 3DS and downloading games in between.

2 that stink…

are the Blackberry Playbook and the HP touchsmart. I have not sold a single one of them they just sit in my cage. I can’t blame the people for not buying them. For starters the blackberry doesn’t have a native email app, and most people using it have a blackberry which does mostly everything. As for the hp touchsmart, well I think it’s a combination of timing and not enough support for the system. Timing is something a company has to get right and just as all of the android tablets come into there own, hp has to release their brand new OS on a new tablet no one has ever touched. Yeah, people are going to snap that up reeeaaaal quick. Second is support with developers just take a look as to how many apps there are on the android and ios appstore and with webOS there are only a few thousand apps. I could only wish that hp gets it’s shit straight and maybe take another go at it. As for the other manufacturers namely apple and any other tablet maker using android, doing a good job there is room for improvements in certain areas but coming along rather nicely.

I hate tablets

Not only do I get shitty pay for the work I do but now with the emerging products comes new systems and all the other b.s. that comes with it. To me it’s just another bullet hole as to why I hate my job even more now than before. Stupid ass customers asking for peripherals, instructions on how to use, and when we are getting “it” in stock. Not only do I not know about the product but, I can’t even demo the stupid shit, and I probably don’t have your fucking accessory.

Fucking idiot comes to my store to buy the galaxy tab, we don’t have the usb adapter and he says with out the adapter he can’t buy the tablet. He then wants me to find a place where they sell it and for what price. To which I said didn’t your son see the adapter and a price on the computer. The man slipped up he did see a price but we still didn’t carry the adapter so he left empty handed.

Lost

I came home to discover that my pirated internet connection has been destroyed and replaced by an encrypted router. Ever since Juliet got the new 360 it has been hell trying to use the internet. Too good to last forever I guess. Now I have to tether my stupid phone just for an internet connection, until my dad decides to get a connection which I hope is sooner rather than later which it always is in his case. No ps3, xbox 360, netflix nothing online this sucks.

Been a long time comin

Cant seem to get a hold of this blog a day. Anyway watchin lost with my girl at her house as she makes chicken soup. Happy Birthday Susannah! U r the bestest sister. Back to lost.

Lately…

I have finished watching the family guy series on netflix. Now I am watching 24 currently on season 2. Haven’t really played any games. I did download the noble map pack for halo: reach, not too many ppl own it but the maps are fun.

Nintendo 3ds March 27 price $250. I cannot wait, it will be kick ass.
